Bellabeat LEAF helps you meet your goals when it comes to both mind and body. It seamlessly transitions from every part of your life to the next- from sleeping to stressful moments to your workouts; even beautifully tracking your monthly cycle. In this way, it becomes part of your life without you even realizing it. The only time I noticed that I was wearing it was when I got compliments on it, or when it would buzz every hour to remind me to get up and move. This activity feature is optional and customizable–as are most of the features on the Leaf. You can set it so that it buzzes at a number of different time intervals, or not at all. When it comes to counting your steps, challenge yourself by setting your goal high, or choose the recommended amount of steps Bellabeat calculates according to your height, weight and age.
The stainless steel and bamboo device can be paired with the provided leather wrist strap, the necklace chain, or easily clip on your shirt or pants. Unlike most bulky unisex fitness trackers, it enhances any outfit instead of taking away from it. It’s easy to tell that the Bellabeat was designed by women, for women, which is something to appreciate in a market filled with gray and black fitness trackers. If you need more ideas on how to wear the device, check out their beautifully curated Instagram page and get ideas on how to live a more active yet stylish life.
One of the most unique features that distinguishes Bellabeat from other fitness trackers is the breathing exercises that are included on the app. I didn’t think that I’d use them that much, but after a stressful phone call, I remembered the variety of guided meditations Bellabeat offered on their app and decided to try it. If you’re likely to forget to take a moment for yourself to relax and breathe during the day, then you can even set a goal for how many minutes you’d like to breathe for the day. If you’re someone who gets stressed out easily, it helps, trust me. Another unique feature the Bellabeat has is its monthly cycle tracker. It not only tells you when your period is supposed to come, but also the days in which you’ll be ovulating and be the most fertile. The beautiful, cohesive design of the monthly cycle tracker in the Bellabeat app will have you deleting any other period tracking apps you have on your smartphone once you see it.
While it seems like the Bellabeat is doing the most work during the day, it’s arguable that one of the most important features is its overnight sleep tracking capabilities. I was under the impression that I was a heavy sleeper who was able to sleep through the entire night, but after using Bellabeat, I realized there were more nuances to my sleep pattern. By clipping the device onto your shirt while you’re asleep, it tracks your movements, so that you can see when you were in deep sleep and restless sleep. Over time, the Bellabeat will even recommend when is the best time for you to go to sleep and wake up based off your sleep data from other nights. In my experience with the wearable, it wasn’t always perfectly accurate at tracking when I fell asleep and when I woke up, but that information was easy to manually adjust and correct.
Overall, compared to all the other wearables I’ve tried, the Bellabeat Leaf wins by a landslide. The small glitches that it has when tracking sleep and syncing with the app are far outnumbered by all the cool features that many other wearables don’t have. Not only is it a beautiful addition to your wardrobe, but will help you live a more healthy, conscious life at the same time.
