New Mistfit Link App Features Robust Smart Controls

The Misfit Link app unleashes the true potential of the Flash wearable. Using the smart button feature in the device, individuals can take a selfie with their smartphone and toggle through music on Spotify or Pandora. During office presentations, the discreet controller acts as a clicker for slideshows, allowing you to interact freely with your colleagues.

For now, the platform is available on iOS devices only (Android version coming soon). New functionalities (integration with IFTTT and Logitech Harmony) are expected to roll out in the future, which makes Flash and the Flash Link (more info below) great, forward-thinking investments.

To match the new app, the company is launching an activity tracker with smart button capabilities called the Flash Link. Priced at $19.99, the smart device is one of the most affordable, multi-functional wearable you can get your hands on.

“We’re focused on making products everyone can use. Flash Link is not just a more affordable wearable, it’s a more powerful one,” said Tim Golnik, Misfit’s Vice President of Product and Design.

Updated Pricing for the Misfit Shine and Flash

In addition to the new releases, the company is also making two of its core activity trackers more affordable. Misfit Shine, the brand’s most complete smart device, is now $69.99 (originally $99.99). The minimally designed wearable features real-time activity (sleep, calories burned, steps taken and distance traveled) and sleep monitoring. For extra motivation, the device allows you to set personal goals. Sports-specific tracking is also available.

Swimmers will be happy to know that the Shine wearable is water resistant to 50 meters. The battery-powered device does not need to be charged every night. Simply replace the coin cell battery every six months and you’re good to go. The Misfit app is your portal to the valuable data collected using the tracker. Organized sections lets you know how close you are from hitting your daily goals. Connected partners include LoseIt!, Runkeeper, MapMyFitness, MyFitnessPal and IFTTT.

The updated pricing for the Misfit Flash is $29.99 (originally $49.99). Suitable for athletes, the wear-anywhere fitness tracker can be worn on your shirt, shoes, wrist, neck or pocket. Like the Misfit Shine, the sleek wearable tracks daily activities and sleep. The device also features the same battery-powered mechanism and water resistant capabilities (up to 30 meters).

Using an LED dial, individuals can track their daily progress without opening the app. The Misfit Flash also functions as a modern watch. Each of the 12 lights represent an hour in the day, which flashes and blinks according to the time.
