Need a palette cleanser from all the heavy-duty tech and gadgets that were introduced at last week’s CES extravaganza? Then this adorable (and functional!) camera from Donya is the perfect quirky item to cure your tech hangover. Donya’s “Paper Like a Digital Camera” is not only just a mouthful of a name, but a paper-thin digital camera that takes both photos and videos.
Boasting a quirky retro aesthetic and coming in at a miniscule 6mm thick, the “Paper Like a Digital Camera” includes the necessary nuts and bolts of a digital camera that allow it to, you know, actually be a camera, all surrounded by some cleverly designed paper. I’m not one for specs or technical mumbo jumbo, but for you photo nerds out there, you can check out the camera’s specifications below courtesy of DC Watch.
- Still images: 1,280 × 1,024 pixels, JPEG
- Video: 720 × 480 pixels at 30 fps, AVI format (MotionJPEG)
- Audio: Monaural, MP3 format
- Storage: microSD/SDHC (up to 16GB, not included)
- Dimensions: 6.8 × 2.0 × 0.6 cm
- Weight: about 43g
The “Paper Like a Digital Camera” boasts an on/off button (necessary), a LED light for battery levels, USB 2.0 terminal to transfer images to your computer and a MODE button for toggling between photo and video. Now, with just 1.3 MP, you won’t be taking breathtaking photos with this little guy (or Insta worthy photos for that matter). Still, “Paper Like a Digital Camera” is a great gift for a photographer who already has it all, or just anyone who wants an extremely lightweight camera that’ll get people talking. The camera is available for purchase on Donya’s website for about $28 U.S. dollars. It’s made of paper, people! That’s some cute shit!
